I hate to be a phallic object named Richard, but….

I FREAKIN’ TOLD YOU SO!!
I’ve said all along how CableOne is a rancid festering rectal wart compared to a real ISP. Looks like everyone I know who was on CableOne over the Thanksgiving weekend were either down or slowed to speeds comparable to a 300 Baud acoustic coupled modem on UUNet circa 1993. Try playing WoW over that! I’ve told them again and again they needed to get DSL, and it looks like at least a couple are actually switching now. Remember, though!! Do _NOT_ take that default MSN crap from Qwest! You CAN and SHOULD choose a real ISP. I strongly suggest choosing Solution Pro for your ISP, but there are several others to choose from.
And a big Ha! to you losers at CableOne!
It’s the seventh sign, I tell you!

There was a blog post that was actually intelligent on ZDNet! I know it seems highly unlikely, but it’s here.
It happened AGAIN!

I really, really love my job. I swear, I do… but they’ve done it AGAIN! I was hoping I could go to Alabama to see my family for Christmas, and had been making plans for the trip. Unfortunately I hadn’t put in a time-off request at work because I didn’t know exact dates yet. So what do they do? They plan for me to teach a 4-week class starting in the second week of December!! This has happened 3 years in a row. I wouldn’t be so aggravated if it weren’t for the fact that I was reassured “it’ll slow waaaay down from Decemember to February.” It wasn’t the first time I’d heard it, and it wasn’t the first time that turned out to be complete and utter Bravo Sierra. How am I going to explain to my son that I’m not going to make it for _ANOTHER_ Christmas?!? God damn it, I really want to quit right this minute but I can’t. Not with over $800 a month in child support to pay, rent, car payment and insurance, and all that other stuff hanging over my head. I just freakin’ hate it when I believe something I _KNOW_ I shouldn’t and get suckered in when it turns out to be a lie I should have expected.
